Jobful, one of the startups from KPMG Startup Grow Pad program, has raised the first 100k euros investment round, from 3 angel investors.
The startup developed the first gamified recruitment platform in Romania and with the help of this investment, seeks to continue the development of the platform and to create a mobile app to be launched this autumn. Their strategy also includes emerging technologies such as machine learning or blockchain, as the team intends to integrate Google Jobs API and MIT Blockcerts.
Their plans target a new seed investment round for this autumn, so that in 2020 Jobful can be launched in 5 new European markets.
“In a labor market having well-known challenges and recruitment solutions focused rather on quantity, a solution built on candidates’ needs and motivators can actually make all the difference. We started Jobful with two promises: one for candidates, as we want to offer them relevant tools supporting them to achieve autonomy and defining a meaningful career path; and another promise for companies, as we clear the quantity driven noise around the recruitment process, shifting their focus from rapid resume screening to a holistic evaluation of potential colleagues. With this investment round we want to better fulfill these promises, as well as to increase the impact of our gamified recruitment solution”, said Mihai Cepoi, co-founder Jobful.
Jobful was launched in May 2018 and is a platform that addresses both young professionals who are looking for personal and professional development, and companies that are looking for ways to improve and to make the recruitment process more efficient through a basic skill and motivation testing of the candidates.
By passing psychometric tests, platform users get to prove their abilities and skills, while the companies have the advantage of filtered, elastic search in order to find the best match for their available positions. In this way, the sourcing and screening part of the recruitment are optimized and the time spent by a recruiter in order to find the right candidate decreases by 85%: from a few hours to a few clicks.
In December 2018, Jobful was awarded 3rd place in the Romanian Startarium competition, and in April 2019 was accepted to the SAP.iO accelerator, in Berlin. Earlier this year, Jobful was one of the three Romanian startups selected to pitch during South East Europe Tech Tour 2019.
From August 2018 until March 2019, Jobful was part of the first KPMG Startup Grow Pad edition. This is the B2B acceleration program developed by KPMG Romania and Spherik Accelerator, launched in 2018 with the aim to help startups find the right resources and support to grow, through a strategic partnership with KPMG Romania. Along Jobful, during a six months collaboration period, Nifty Learning, iFactor, Box2m and SYT.app were the other startups in the programme.
