Who we are
Established in 2013, Spherik was the first accelerator launched in Romania aimed at growing the emerging entrepreneurial tech ecosystem, connecting local and regional startups with strategic resources and facilitating their access to the global business dealflow.
Established as a public-private partnership, the original founding members were the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, the Babes-Bolyai University, Liberty Technology Park and Banca Transilvania. Both universities are still part of the association.

Awarded as the Best Acceleration program in Romania three years in a row (2016-2018) by the Central European Startup Awards (CESA), Spherik is an accelerator built at the intersection of Technology, Education and Investment.
It brings together a community of technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, corporations, investors and universities that have joined their efforts to support the development of the startup ecosystem at the European level.
Pioneering Europe’s innovation ecosystem
Since the beginning, Spherik has pioneered the development of the innovation market by supporting startups, facilitating strategic partnerships between startups and corporations/investment funds, developing close partnerships with European and US partners, and with the Romanian diaspora active in the business and ICT areas.
