150 European startups will be accelerated in 3 cohorts between 2019 and 2021
Data Market Services – the European startup acceleration program for data-centric startups, has launched the applications for the first cohort. Startups that are interested can apply until May 27th on the project website.
The program is addressed to startups that operate in the area of: Health, Food Security, Resource Efficiency, Energy Management, Intelligent Transport, Smart Cities, Smart Agriculture, Civil Protection & Government, Geo-Spacial Data, Social networking, Finance & Economics, E-commerce, Telecomm, Legal, Engineering, Advertising & other.
From those who applied before April 1st, 10 startups were admitted into the program and will go to The Next Web – one of the partners in the project, in May in Amsterdam. The 10 selected startups are: Aerialscoop (The Netherlands), 20treei.ai (Portugal), nevisQ (Germany), BeSure Healthcare B.V. (The Netherlands), Octagon Careers (Germany), PriceFlux.net (Romania), NVISO (Switzerland), XORESEARCH (Latvia), LeanXcale (Spain) & Sensei.tech (Portugal). There are 40 more spots to be filled for this year’s batch.
Data Market Services is a European project funded by Horizon 2020, that brings together twelve free support services to the 150 startups selected in the program: fundraising, business and product development, standards and legal frameworks and consequently the privacy and data protection with the fulfilment of the GDPR, international promotion and Data Science skills. The program addresses startups and SMEs in the EU and partner countries.
The project is to be implemented during 3 years, between January 2019 and December 2021, and is coordinated by ZABALA Innovation Consulting (Spania). The other members of the consortium are: Spherik Accelerator (Romania), Bright Pixel (Portugal), Spinlab (Germany), The Next Web (Holland), Southampton Data Science Academy (United Kingdom), IPTECTOR (Denmark), W3C (France) and Ogilvy (Spain).
The program emerges as an initiative aimed at changing the data market context in Europe, nurture the entrepreneurship and launch the emerging companies onto the international markets. A call for startups will be launched each year, following which 50 startups will be selected, with a total of 150 companies to be accelerated in the program.
